Using Social Media
Using social media right means you have decided to join the conversation. Using it wrong means you have decided social media is a dumping ground for famous-quotes and quips, a place for planned and scheduled marketing messages, or simply a place for a one-sided conversation representing the official corporate voice.
If you use social media, be you. Be accessible. Share photos. Give your followers an inside look! Your people are your most precious resource and they represent your corporate culture. Let it shine.
But also, and maybe most importantly, scrub social media for feedback. If a customer posts something about you on Twitter, its best that you know about it and respond accordingly. The days of isolation are over. Be accessible. Be honest. Be real. And join the conversation.
